Stacy Acker boosted my confidence as a writer.  I’ve always expressed myself through creative writing, but the idea of thesis statements, research papers, and essays discouraged me from pursuing it academically in the past. I have two sons who are two grades apart in school. One graduated high school in 2016 and the other in 2018. They had many essays to write as they each applied to 10 to 15 elite universities and business programs. They were both very involved in high school activities and applied for a few scholarships as well. I am thankful that they worked with Stacy Acker because she made essay writing for college applications and scholarships so much easier. (Parents are not the best ones to review their own children’s essays – even those who work in publishing or writing-related professions, like me!) Stacy really got to know my kids individually and helped them choose strong essay topics. My sons wrote the essays, and, then, with constructive criticism and positive feedback, she helped them transform their writing into succinct and interesting essays. Stacy knows what admissions and scholarship committees are looking for, so she pushed my sons to expand upon their essays to make them the best they could be. Dear Stacy, I want to take this time to say THANK YOU, for the time and assistance you provided to my daughter, Natalie. Natalie came to you back in September with her various essay drafts for the colleges she was applying to. As each college posed a different question, she had varied versions to work on. Natalie, inspired by your suggestions, found her “writing voice” and wrote essays that became like a visual landscape in words. For each essay written, you made a succession of appointments to sit with her in order to advise her and help give her clarity. You kept giving her assignments to think about and revisions to make, until the essays were completely superior. The process was enjoyable to Natalie as she could see the progress she made with each seemingly small step. But, the final outcome was huge. When Natalie pressed “send”, sending out her applications and essays, she had CONFIDENCE that her essays could in no way, be better than they were. Her goal was always to go to FSU, which is where she will be attending. I could not recommend anyone more than Stacy Acker and her writing process, when getting prepared for college essays! There is nothing better than total confidence!
